Shilobod, Megan

As a traditional artist, my work is split into two worlds: the actual figures and objects that humans see every day to the intangible realm of the subconscious and superconscious, where psychologists and philosophers dwell. Inspired by myths, fantasy, and folklore, my goal as an artist is to tie abstract ideas and concepts into insightful visuals that viewers can relate to their personal experiences. Higher education has allowed me to dedicate my skills and talent towards a higher calling of helping others through my art. As a future bio/medical illustrator, I hope to focus on the unseen struggles behind rare diseases and mental disorders often overlooked by more common ones. Using my creative mind and conceptual work, I want to bridge the gap between science and the unknown to further myself as an artist and individual and the lives of those around me.
